One of the strategies of the enemy is to make us feel disconnected from God, the Father.

Every morning I repeat the same prayer.  'Lord, I want to love You with all of my heart.'  The first commandment is to love God.  If I get that one right, everything else will carefully move into place.  It is not a noble conviction I have, but a strong desire that comes from a deeper place than I knew existed on the inside of me.  That prayer perfectly expresses the desire of my heart.  'Lord, I really do want to love you with all of my heart...'

From now on, know this: you have a choice whenever you hear this familiar phrase,
“Whatever it is, it isn’t (fill in the blank)”.

Sometimes silence shouts louder than words.

This morning I got a call from Mrs. Ella, and she invited me to come and take some pictures at her old homeplace!

As you will be able to tell from this blog, a study in the book of Nehemiah got me all stirred up!

Being in a crisis of faith seems to limit our words.  This is what I think Jonah's conversation with God might have sounded like.  Brief, but to the point:  pre-whale, inside-whale and post-whale.

A poem of encouragement for those of us who know what it feels like to be forty.

By glendajoy on 2/7/2009 10:59 AM

I was amazed how powerful one word can be to invite discouragement and fear.

By glendajoy on 12/31/2008 7:50 PM

And, thank you to each of you that have been up in my stands clapping and cheering me on.

If not now, when?

By glendajoy on 9/15/2008 9:05 AM

It is so wonderfully marvelous how the Holy Trinity 'manifests' Himself to the individual believer...

By glendajoy on 9/14/2008 9:47 PM

Our words can cause someone's dream to flourish, or to wither.
