There are thousands of thoughts that we have daily, and many of them are initiated by God. This blog is my way to document some that come my way. If at any time when you read this blog, it causes you to stop and enjoy a bit of the wonder tucked carefully into ordinary things, then I will have accomplished my goal for writing it. Glory to Him, who is the Wonder of all wonders!

One of the strategies of the enemy is to make us feel disconnected from God, the Father.

Every morning I repeat the same prayer. 'Lord, I want to love You with all of my heart.' The first commandment is to love God. If I get that one right, everything else will carefully move into place. It is not a noble conviction I have, but a strong desire that comes from a deeper place than I knew existed on the inside of me. That prayer perfectly expresses the desire of my heart. 'Lord, I really do want to love you with all of my heart...'

From now on, know this: you have a choice whenever you hear this familiar phrase,
“Whatever it is, it isn’t (fill in the blank)”.

Being in a crisis of faith seems to limit our words. This is what I think Jonah's conversation with God might have sounded like. Brief, but to the point: pre-whale, inside-whale and post-whale.

For some reason that I still don't completely comprehend, the words 'pure joy' will lead you to websites where what you see is the very opposite of 'pure'.

This is not really a regular blog entry, but a poem I wrote. It was written soon after one of my sweet grandmothers went to be with the Lord. From both sides of my family, I have received a godly inheritance. With all of my heart, I want to build on the foundation of faith that they laid before me. If the language seems a bit unfamiliar, I was attempting to express my heart in the style of Christian mystics from centuries ago. I love the eloquent way they expressed their desire to the Lord. What these words lack in eloquence, they make up for in passionate love.

...we are all creative. Not because our parents are, or we went to school to develop our artistic ability, or even because we have produced works of art. All of us are creative because the One who created us breathed some of Himself into us.

This dream impacted me on what seemed to be a cellular level. Every since I had this dream, I have believed it is possible to experience the Glory of God when I am awake. I know the Glory of God is tangible, and can be seen and felt. I share the prayer of Moses (Exodus 33:18) when he said to God, "Show me Your Glory". And as for me, I am still waiting on the cloud...
