Cheers to the years
that it took to be this free
from the trauma and the drama
the 20’s and 30’s can be.

Into the calm and the peace
of now,
the fasting, the casting
of future vision
moving forward
with diving precision.

To a rest-filled, happy place
secure in your identity,
your face.
Happy the woman
who knows her heart
from her, sweet wisdom
shall not depart.

Take from our brother, Moses
a lesson, quite weighty
his adventure didn’t begin
until he was eighty!

By now, you’ve learned
by now, you know
age 40 is not a destination,
but an exceedingly glad
launching pad.
