What an amazing day! The sky was blue, and big puffy clouds were decorating it! My kind of day.
This morning I got a call from Mrs. Ella, and she invited me to come and take some pictures at her old homeplace! I have been wanting to do that for a long time. When I arrived at her house I noticed a beautiful new addition to her garden. An orange rose! Mental note to self... Get an images of that creation!
When we arrived at the house and walked around, it was even more amazing than I had imagined. This lovely home has been there since 1850! Wowsers.
And as I walked around the outside of the house, what do I find but more flowers! No surprise there. I think wherever Mrs. Ella goes, flowers just spring up around her! I think even flowers respond to a little verbal encouragement, and I am betting she talks to them when she sees them.
Surprise lilies all over. Someone in my neighborhood calls them Naked Ladies. Not sure why except they don't have any kind of leaves.
And then I came upon a this lovely white hibiscus that was as big as a dinner plate! Pretty incredible.
I took some images of the wonderful old house, and then sat down and talked with Mrs. Ella and her son on the porch.
It was a great way to spend a few hours in the afternoon. And on the way home, I stopped by her house and took some pictures of that orange rose, sweet pea vine, pink/white petunia, and a wonderful pink flower in her back yard that I cannot name.
On the way home from her house, I stopped by the Goodlettsville City Hall and was delighted to see that lots of people were signing her Art Display guest book. This is the last week of the display, so I hope many, many more people come through and sign it so it will be a blessing to her!
