Sons of the Father

Dear little brother in Jesus,

I trust this email will find you feeling strength and health return to your body.

There is a short message stirring in me for you. I am not sure whether I can effectively communicate it with words, but it is important, so I am going to try.

One of the strategies of the enemy is to make us feel disconnected from God, the Father. To make us doubt that we are His sons. To doubt that He is good. To question His love. The reality is- no matter what we feel or think- we are the sons of God. We have been adopted. Romans 8. The enemy can target that relational connect, and because of circumstances introduce a question in our mind of Who God is, and who we are, and what we have. For example, in the story of the prodigal son, he was still a son, but his relationship with his father had been broken when he believed a lie. His sonship was never in question. He had but to return to the Father to have that relationship restored. But, it had to be restored before he could receive what the father had to give.

Jesus made the way for us to become the sons of God. To be put in right relationship with the Father. To be in a position to develop a relationship with Him, based on the reality of who we are in Him. We got the position before we could develop the relationship, but develop the relationship, we must. We have access to God, the Father BECAUSE we are His sons. We have His ear, BECAUSE we are His sons. We have access to His heart, BECAUSE we are His sons. We can move the heart of God BECAUSE we are His sons.

Do not allow the enemy to deceive you into believing for one minute that you are not among the sons of God, that He loves you without restraint or reserve, and that every plan that He has for your life is pristinely and purely good. Do not accept anything as coming from the Father, that is not from Him. He is good, and can only give to you from the abundance of His goodness.

My prayer for you today is that Holy Spirit will rest on you (literally), bringing the full revelation of who you are in relationship to God the Father. You are His Son. Perhaps, the most eloquent and powerful prayer you can pray right now, is a cry to Him...Abba, Father, Daddy, Poppy. Allow yourself to pour out your heart to Him by just calling His name. Just as a son in great distress- whose vocabulary has been reduced to a few words- cry out the truth of Who He is in relation to you.

You are His son. He is your Father. Ask the Holy Spirit to restore to you whatever has been lost or stolen of the certainty of that reality. Everything else- every other prayer- is dependent on that revelation.

All creation groans (including each of us) for the unveiling of the sons of God. No wonder this strategic relationship is so targeted by our enemy. He knows that when our relationship is restored to the Father, his defeat is a inevitable.

I love you, and am receiving the restoration of this mighty truth right along with you.
We are loved.
