I Remember

“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the LORD, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.”

This is a day of remembrance for me, as every day is.

Father in Heaven,
I remember that you heard my cries for help when I was in bondage in my own Egypt.

I remember how You sent Jesus, the Deliverer to me, just as You sent Moses for the children of Israel.

I remember leaving Egypt accompanied by Your Holy Spirit. (Keep leading me!)

I remember how You parted the impossible sea so I could walk across on dry land, and how You conquered my pursuing enemies with a Strong Arm and a Mighty Hand. (Keep conquering them!)

I remember traveling through the wilderness so you could get the Egypt out of me. (Don't ever stop until it is all gone!)

I remember that You have offered me a Promised Land. Give me the grace and tenacious courage to yield fully and completely to You, and help me to take full possession of everything thing You purchased on my behalf by the sacrifice of the Lamb of God, as You take full possession of me.

From that very moment, I became Your property. (Forgive me the times when that transaction has not been evident in my life.) I was bought and paid for by precious blood. (I remember what it was like to be truly clean for the very first time.)

My heart is full of praise to You because I remember where I was when You rescued me. I remember being born again. (Please continue Your work of making me new.)

I love You because You heard my cries for help and Your mighty heart was moved to overtake and apprehend me. Your overwhelming kindness produced in me tears of repentance, and then I found life, real life, that is only found in You. (May I always be found in You, and may I love You with all of my heart, soul, mind and strength.)

I remember, Lord, and I will never forget.
